Apostolos Zarras received his B.Sc. in Computer Science in 1994 from the Computer Science Department, University of Crete. From the same department he received his M.Sc. in Distributed Systems and Computer Architecture. In 1999 he received his Ph.D in Distributed Systems and Software Architecture from the University of Rennes I. At the same time he worked as a researcher at the Solidor Group of IRISA-Rennes. From 1999 to 2001 Apostolos Zarras worked as a researcher at the ARLES Group of INRIA-Rocquencourt. From 1996 to 2001 he participated in several projects funded by the European Community (CALIM, C3DS, Lydia). Moreover, he participated in several other projects and collaborations that received national funding (PANDA France-Portugal collaboration, ASTER INRIA-FranceTelecom collaboration). From 2002 until 2004 Apostolos Zarras held a visiting lecturer position at the Computer Science Department of the University of Ioannina, Greece. Finally, from 2004 until now he holds a lecturer position at the same department. Apostolos Zarras has published over 15 papers in international conferences, journals and magazines. Moreover, he has more than 50 citations in his work. He is currently a member of the IEEE computer society. His research interests include middleware, model-driven architecture development, quality analysis of software systems and pervasive computing.
